What is DRM?

DRM is the shortcut for Digital Rights Management. Authors and owners of copywright laws can keep a track of their arts in digital form using DRM. The most common types of DRM are protected access to the medium, prohibition of copying or conversion into a different format.

  3. DRM works on every Windows system - DRM is bound to a specific player on the customer's side; Windows Media Player is part of every installation of the Microsoft Windows 2000 operational system and higher
  4. DRM provides detailed control – DRM allows the detailed control and track keeping of your content. It reveals the way of obtaining, time of playing and also the frequency of the content

Basic types of DRM

  • Permit to play – allows to run the content on the users device
  • Number of plays – count of the number of plays on the users device
  • Copying – allows the control of the copying of the content onto a different device, such as a portable player for example
  • Numer of copies – control of the number of copies made
  • Store and renewal of the license - it is possible to control the storage and possible renewal of the license
  • Allowance of online sharing – allows the control of possible license sharing in real time in an online group, for example through Microsoft Messenger
  • Allowance of burning of the content - it is easy to control the burning of the content onto a CD or DVD
  • Timing license – control of from when and for how long should the license be active
  • Expiration after first use – allows only one single access to the content
  • Expiration after some time since the first use – it is possible to set the amount of time before the expiration of the license after the first use of the content
  • Erase the license after a change in time – the license can be automatically erased if the user changes the time on his player, wanting to prolong his license without authorization
